AQUA featured recipe:

AQUA Funnel Cake, Yum!

2 eggs
1.5 cups milk
.25 cup brown sugar
1.5 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
.5 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

beat wet ingredients together, then add sugar, sift
dry ingredients into batter, heat oil in fry daddy or
fryer, have ring mold with handle, pipe batter into
ring mold, remove excess from edge,
allow to sizzle, remove ring mold, flip til golden, rest
on paper towel, finish with powdered sugar, fresh
berries and ice cream… chocolate, nuts, whipped
cream… any way is divine!

true, many clients are afraid to try either…
but when they do :)”

 

2) do you have a favorite modality to perform?
“ayurvedic massage, hands down
and with four hands you’ll achieve true bliss”

 

3) what spa trends do you see on the rise?
“blending, as in modalities.
integrating from different cultures and styles.
customizing for the clients wishes as well and needs.

 

4) what are the “tony” fundamentals of spa?
“it ain’t over till it’s over!”
making a 50 minute massage seem like an 80 minute.
completeness, and celebrating the uniqueness of
each individual client with reverence and love!

 

5) what is your favorite service to receive?
“i love body treatments, but don’t get them often enough.
any massage will do though. i’m a touch junkie!”

“balanced, full-bodied, kinda like men!”

 

2) when suggesting food and wine pairings, what is a BIG no-no?
“don’t have food & wine fight each other- harmony!  always!”

 

3) what wine trends do you see on the rise?
“argentinean, malbec’s still moving up and Spanish
wines with more elegance and finesse, less flaws.”

 

4) what are the “aqua-nett” fundamentals of tasting wine?
“lay low… sip slow”
- Swirl, take your time
- Sniff, clockwise
- Taste, swish all around mouth, gums, tongue
- Ariate, close friends love to hear you gurgle
- Ahhh… wine compliments life!

 

5) when the sommelier is off the clock, what is your wine of choice… details?
“whew that’s hard, champagne definitely, pinot noir mostly,
sassy fresh whites always.  I love balanced wines all varietals
and when in doubt… isn’t champagne a food group?”
